The 2019 Joint European Society of Cardiology (ESC)/ European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) Dyslipidaemia Guidelines were released on 31 August during the ESC Congress, Paris, France.

These novel ESC/EAS Guidelines on lipids provide important new advice on patient management, which should enable more clinicians to efficiently and safely reduce CV risk through lipid modification. So the question is, what has changed since the 2016 guidelines?

Highlighting the key changes and what they will mean for practicing clinicians, EAS has written a commentary article, and created short explanatory videos. The videos feature EAS Guidelines Task Force members Professor Alberico L. Catapano, Professor Lale Tokgozoglu, and Professor Olov Wiklund, giving short presentations explaining what is new.
